Big Sky Highlights


  • Montana won the 34th Lady Griz Classic  with wins over Utah Valley and Austin Peay. Kyleigh Valley earned Big Sky Player of the week honors for her part in the Lady Griz’s 3-0 week.
  • Eastern Washington advanced to the final of the Florida Gator Classic with a 55-42 win over Georgia Southern.
  • Idaho State is riding a two-game win streak after defeating Seattle this past week.
  • Weber State’s Regina Okoye, leads the nation in steals per game with 3.7. Montana leads the nation in blocks per game while Sacramento State hold the lead in team steals per game, offenseive rebounds and 3-point field goals per game.
 
This Week’s Top Perfomers
 
Hallie Gennett (SAC) - Gennett scored a career-high 27 points to lead Sacramento State to a 102-92 win over Utah State in their only game of the week. She shot 9-of-16 overall and a blistering 7-of-13 (53.8%) from 3-point range to score 27 points, one more than her previous career high scoring total. She was also 2-of-2 at the free throw line and added one rebound in 24 minutes played. She has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, including three 20-point games, and leads the team with 14.0 points per game for the season. She is tied for 4th in the NCAA with 3.5 three-pointers made per game this year.
 
Stephanie Lee (UNC) - Stephanie Lee continues to be a catalyst for Northern Colorado, averaging 15.5 ppg, four rebounds per game, 2.5 blocks per game, and two steals per game. In both games she led UNC in blocks. Against South Florida, Lee became the 19th player in school history to score 1,000  points. She finished the game with a team high 17 points. Against Florida Gulf Coast she scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half, and hit a career high two three pointers.
 
Hailey Mandelko (SUU) - Mandelko racked 26 in the Thunderbirds tight win over Westminster as she nailed a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining to earn SUU the win. Following the Westminster matchup, Mandelko totaled 15 points and 3 steals, shooting 50% from the field in Southern Utah’s loss to Gonzaga.
 
Mia Loyd (UND) - Loyd collected her fifth straight double double with a pair of big performances this week. Tuesday against Mayville State, the junior etched a new career high with 28 points while adding 15 rebounds. She followed that with a 15-point, 12-rebound effort at South Dakota Sunday.
 
Raven Anderson (NAU) - Anderson posted averages of 12.3 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 59.3 percent from the field in NAU’s three games last week. Against Pepperdine to start the week, Anderson posted her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds in a dominating effort that also included three assists, a steal and two blocks. She was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor and made 3-of-4 free throws. She followed with an 18 point performance against CSUN on Thursday as she was a force inside, helping NAU to a 36-28 advantage in points in the paint. Finally on Sunday, Anderson was a presence on the defensive end, recording team-highs of three blocks and three steals in addition to sharing the team-lead with six rebounds to go with six points. Her three blocks were a season-best.
