OGDEN, Utah (Jan. 21, 2014) – The Big Sky tennis season has officially begun for both sides as six men’s teams and three women’s teams competed last week.

Eastern Washington men opened up the 2014 season with a 2-1 start.  The Eagles defeated Willamette 6-0, Portland State 5-2 and lost to No. 52 Oregon 7-0.  Portland State men also faced Oregon and lost 7-0.  Sacramento State men traveled to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on Hawaii Pacific, Hawaii and BYU-Hawaii.  The Hornets lost 7-0 to Hawaii Pacific, 4-3 to Hawaii and beat BYU-Hawaii 5-2. 
 
Sacramento State’s women’s team lost to San Francisco 4-3.  Montana State women lost to Washington State 7-0 and lost to future Big Sky opponent Idaho 5-2.  Northern Arizona women faced No. 26 Arizona State in a double header.  The Lumberjacks lost 7-0 and 5-0.
 
Montana State men lost to No. 46 Boise State 7-0.  Weber State men lost to No. 75 Utah 6-1.  Idaho State men lost 5-2 to Utah State.
