Bears Card 324 in Second Round
ERIE, Colo. - Northern Colorado fired a 324 in the second round of the NCAA West Regional women's golf tournament on Friday.
The Bears, who shot a 311 in the first round, sit in 23rd place with a 36-hole score of 635 heading into Saturday's final round.
Junior Carleigh Silvers, the Big Sky individual champion, led the way with a 5-over-par 77 in cool conditions at the Colorado National Golf Course. Silvers was even par through 13 holes, but suffered a pair of double-bogey 5s on par-3 holes late in her round. Silvers opened with a 75 on Thursday.
Senior Chelsea Silvers shot a 79 on Friday, while Hannah McNeeley carded an 83 and senior Ali Nelson recorded an 85. Libby Avery, who shot a 78 on Thursday, dropped to a 90 on Friday.
Many of the top teams were still in the course as of Friday aftenoon.
