Montana State’s Jeff Mohl won the decathlon, while Sacramento State's Baiba Celma won the heptathlon as the combined events concluded at the 2012 Big Sky Conference Championships in Bozeman, Mont.

The regular portion of the meet will begin on Friday with the field events starting at 11:30 a.m. and the running events open up at 3:30 p.m. Catch all the action on Big Sky TV.

SAC’s Celma finished the day with 5,279 points. Montana State’s Carley McCutchen was second with 5,012 points and MSU’s Sarah McGree is third with 4,957 points.

Celma was the leader in the heptathlon going into the championships, while McCutchen was second and McGree was third.

In the men’s decathlon, Mohl finished with 7,630 points, while teammate Asa Staven was second with 7,375 points. Montana’s Austin Emry was third with 7,169 points.

Mohl was the leader heading into the championships on Wednesday, while teammate Staven was second. Emry was ranked seventh coming into the event.

Staven won the indoor championships this season, while setting a championship record. Teammate Mohl was second indoor.
