OGDEN, UTAH (Oct. 31, 2011) - The Big Sky Conference has selected its football Players of the Week for games played on Saturday, Oct. 29. Montana quarterback Jordan Johnson and Northern Colorado wide receiver Patrick Walker are the co-offensive Players of the Week. Portland State linebacker Joel Sisler is the Defensive player of the Week. Portland State kicker Zach Brown is the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 202-pound sophomore from Eugene, Ore., completed 23-of-32 passes (.719 percent) for a career-high 299 yards and tied a school record with six passing touchdowns in Montana’s 45-10 victory over Weber State. His TD passes went for 31, 18, 11, 17, 8 and 25 yards, and five of them came in the first half as Montana built a 38-3 lead. Four of his passes were caught by Jabin Sambrano. Johnson also rushed for 53 yards on eight carries to finish with 352 yards of total offense. Johnson became the first Big Sky QB to throw six TDS in a game since 2007. This is Johnson’s first career Player of the Week award. Johnson was also named the national player of the week by College Sports Madness, and a National All-Star by College Sporting News.

Walker, a 5-9, 180-pound senior from Long Beach, Calif., set a Big Sky single-game record with 315 receiving yards in Northern Colorado’s 27-25 loss to North Dakota. Walker caught 10 passes, averaging 31.5 yards per catch. He caught TD passes of 80 and 88 yards. His 315 yards broke the previous Big Sky single-game record of 299 set by Nevada’s Treamell Taylor in 1989. This is Walker’s first Player of the Week honor. Walker was also named national player of the week by The Sports Network.

Sisler, a 6-2, 210-pound junior from Escondido, Calif., returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown and finished with five tackles and a sack in Portland State’s 43-26 road win over Eastern Washington. Sisler intercepted Bo Levi Mitchell and returned it for a touchdown with 5:17 remaining in the third quarter to give the Vikings a 36-20 lead. Sisler also had a quarterback hurry. He has three interceptions and two fumble recoveries this season. This is his first career Player of the Week honor.

Brown, a 6-1, 200-pound junior from Keizer, Ore., made three field goals and finished with 12 points in Portland State’s 43-26 win over Eastern Washington. Brown connected on two field goals of 38 yards and also hit from 41. He also executed a pooch kick that was recovered by the Vikings in the third quarter. Brown has made 14-of-15 field goals this season. This is Brown’s fifth career Player of the Week honor.
