Senior Cassie Merkley finished eighth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Championship Thursday garnering 5,430 points, her best score this season and earning All-America status. [read more]

University of Montana sophomore Katrina Drennen concluded her record-breaking season Thursday evening, finishing seventh in the second of two heats in the national semifinals of the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Only the top five finishers from Drennen’s heat advanced to Saturday’s 1,500 meter finals. [read more]

Montana State

Junior Emily Tyrrell will be competing in her second NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship this Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. After a rocky mid-section of the season, she has found her stroke and had her two season best throws in her last two meets. She threw 170-9 at the regional meet in Austin, Texas two weeks ago, breaking her own MSU school record. [read more]

Northern Arizona

The end of a stellar season for another Northern Arizona track athlete came to an end Thursday evening as sophomore Ahmed Osman finished 15th overall in the men's 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Looking for his second-straight All-American award in the event, Osman was unable to come up with a top-eight finish as he concluded the race in a time of 29:29.62. [read more]

Portland State

Nick Trubachik did not let the first-time jitters get to him today during day one of the NCAA Track & Field Championships decathlon competition. Trubachik finished the day with 3,846 points and sits in 11th-place overall. Oregon's Ashton Eaton leads the competition with 4,500 points. [read more]

Sacramento State

Ronald Brookins ran 13.80 in the second heat of the men's 110-hurles to finish 12th at the NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Brookins finished third in his heat but failed to advance to Saturday's final as just the top two times from each of the three heats and the next two best marks moved on. [read more]

Weber State

Weber State’s Brett Hales (Jr.-Ogden, Utah / Ogden HS) has qualified for the finals of the men’s 3,000 Meter Steeplechase the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.  Hales ran a career best time of 8:45.28. The top six runners from each heat, and next two best times, advance to the finals on Friday, June 11th at 6:00 p.m. (PDT). Hales’ time was the 12th and final qualifying time. [read more]
