Thibeault Breaks Record, Grabs Final Award

Ogden, Utah (Nov. 22) - Montana’s Jaimie Thibeault has been selected as the Big Sky Conference’s volleyball player of the week for matches played between Nov. 15-21.
The 6-2 middle blocker averaged a .400 hitting percentage and 2.71 blocks, 4.43 kills and 6.21 points per set over the weekend as Montana won a much needed pair of home wins to receive the No. 4 spot in the Big Sky tournament next weekend. Her 19 total blocks added to her 535 career blocks and broke the school record which had stood since 1987. Thibeault is now ranked ninth in the conference in career blocks and is the only active player with over 500 career blocks. The Red Deer, Alberta native is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation in blocks with 1.47 blocks per set.
In the Grizzlies sweep of Weber State, Thibeault had 12 kills on a .429 hitting percentage. She tallied eight blocks and 17 total points in addition to three digs.
Against Idaho State, Thibeault had a season-high 19 kills on a .382 attack percentage and posted 11 blocks.
Behind Thibeault’s net presence, the Grizzlies out-blocked Weber State and Idaho State 32 to 13.
