Defending Big Sky Conference Co-Champion Weber State takes on Idaho State in the first Altitude Sports & Entertainment Big Sky Conference Football Game of the Week.
Coverage begins at 6 p.m. Mountain from Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah. Mychal Clanton will handle the play-by-play duties with former NFL Linebacker Brant Boyer serving as color commentator. Brooks Hansen will report from the sidelines.
Ron McBride’s Weber State Wildcats are ranked 13th in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Wildcats have lost two close games to Mountain West Conference squads, including a 24-23 heartbreaker last week to Colorado State.
Idaho State, coached by John Zamberlin, is looking for its first victory of the season after opening the season with one of the toughest two-game openers in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Bengals opened at Pac-10 Arizona State and played national powerhouse Oklahoma last Saturday in Norman, Okla.
Weber State features a high-powered offense led by Walter Payton Award candidates Cameron Higgins and Trevyn Smith. The Wildcat defense is led by Buck Buchanan Award candidate Josh Morris.
Idaho State’s improved squad is led by sophomore linebacker A.J. Storms.
Weber State has dominated Idaho State the last 25 years, winning 23 of the meetings. Weber State clinched the Big Sky’s automatic bid to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs with a 59-27 victory over the Bengals last season in Pocatello.
Altitude Sports & Entertainment is available on many cable outlets throughout Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho, as well as six other states. The network is available on Dish Network Channel 410 and DirecTV channel 481.
Saturday’s game will air on tape delay three times, including Saturday night at 11 p.m. The game will also air on Sunday at 11 p.m., and again Monday at 10 a.m.

Altitude Sports & Entertainment will televise four more Big Sky Conference football games this season. Next Saturday, Montana State meets Northern Colorado at 1:30 p.m. Mountain. On Oct. 10, Weber State battles Eastern Washington at 1:30 p.m. Mountain. On Oct. 24, Weber State takes on Northern Colorado. Idaho State and Montana State round out the schedule on Oct. 31 from Bozeman, Mont.
Altitude is also home to the Big Sky Men’s Basketball Sunday Game of the Week, the Big Sky Conference Championship semifinals, and the league’s women’s basketball championship.
