Sacramento State senior Luke Kristo has been selected as the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week after capturing medalist honors at the Sacramento State Invitational.
 
Kristo, a senior from Lancaster, Calif., Kristo shot rounds of 72, 70 and closed with a six-under-par 66 to finish with a 54-hole total of eight-under 208. Kristo played the first 12 holes of the tournament at 4-over-par, but was 12-under on his final 42 holes.  Kristo birdied the final hole on Tuesday to edge Byron Meth of Pacific for medalist honors.
 
Kristo’s 66 tied his career best, and his 54-hole total tied for the fourth-best in school history. Kristo helped the Hornets capture the team title. Sacramento State carded rounds of 286, 288 and  an 8-under 280 for an 854 at the Valley Hi Country Club in Elk Grove, Calif. The Hornets won the 16-team tournament by 13 shots.
 
This is Kristo’s first Golfer of the Week honor.
