Smith, a true freshman from Kingston, Tasmania, went 4-0 in Eastern Washington’s first two dual matches. Smith, playing the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, beat Boise State’s Melna Toseva 6-2, 6-2 on Friday to secure the Eagles’ only point. She teamed with doubles partner Erin Blessing for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. On Saturday, in EWU’s 7-0 win over Lewis-Clark State, Smith notched a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Smith and Blessing combined for a 6-0 doubles win.
