Idaho’s Aaron Cockerill has been selected as the Big Sky Conference men’s Golfer of the Week after tying for 21st place at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational.
Cockerill, a senior from Stony Mountain, Manitoba, opened play at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas, with a 5-under-par 67. He followed in the second round with a 68 and closed with a 75 for a 6-under-par 210.
Cockerill helped Idaho finish the tournament with a 5-under-par 859. The Vandals opened with rounds of 279 and 283 before closing with a 297. New Mexico State won the event, which was played Oct. 24-26, with an 818.
This is Cockerill’s first Big Sky Golfer of the Week honor.
