Brooke Moody, a senior defender from Parker, Colo., played all 180 minutes at center back as Montana shut out North Dakota and Northern Colorado at home. Friday’s 7-0 victory over UND helped the Grizzlies earn the right to host the Big Sky Conference tournament for the first time since 2000. Sunday’s 1-0 victory over UNC clinched Montana’s first outright Big Sky regular-season title since 2000.
Montana’s defense allowed just six shots in the two matches, three on goal.
In Friday’s 7-0 win over UND, Moody made the score 2-0 in the 30th minute when she converted a penalty kick. It made Moody 3 for 3 on PKs this season and gave her five goals for her career.
