Idowu, a 6-2, 210-pound junior from Woodbury, Minn., tied his career-high with eight tackles and intercepted a pass in North Dakota’s 24-16 win over Portland State. Idowu’s biggest tackle of the game came when he stopped Portland State’s Nate Tago on the 2-yard line with the Vikings facing a fourth-and-goal from the 4-yard line on the game’s final play. His third-quarter interception which he returned 11 yards set up a touchdown that gave his team a 17-13 lead. This is Idowu’s first career Player of the Week honor.
