FARMINGTON, Utah (April 7, 2025) – The Big Sky Conference will announce weekly honors for softball, outdoor track and field, tennis and women’s golf through the course of the week.
Big Sky Softball Player of the Week (April 7, 2025)
Co-Player of the Week: Belle Navarrete, Idaho State (2B, So., Mered, Calif.)
Belle Navarrete played a pivotal role in the Bengals' three-game sweep of Northern Colorado this past weekend. The Bengal infielder was on fire offensively, hitting .714 on the series, going five-of-seven with three runs scored and six RBIs.
In ISU's win in game three of the series, Navarrete made history as the first Bengal to hit two home runs in the same inning, her second coming as a true inside-the-park home homerun. With her six RBIs and 13 total bases in the three games, Belle finished with an astonishing 1.857 SLG percentage.
Defensively at 2nd base, Navarrete had three putouts and six assists with 0 errors to remain perfect on the weekend.
Co-Player of the Week: Abby Grundy, Weber State (3B, Sr., South Jordan, UT.)
Abby Grundy helped the Wildcats to a series sweep against Montana. Went 4-for-9 at the plate for a .444 percentage over the weekend and totaled six RBI and three home runs.

Big Sky Softball Pitcher of the Week (April 7, 2025)
Pitcher of the Week: Kennedie Magorian, Sacramento State (P, Jr., Foresthill, CA)
Junior
Kennedie Magorian helped lead Sacramento State to a 2-1 road series win at Portland State. The right-hander was 1-0 with a perfect 0.00 ERA. In 7.0 innings, she allowed only two hits with four walks and 10 strikeouts. She yielded just a .095 batting average to Portland State hitters, and finished with a 2.5-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio.
In the Hornets’ 2-0 win over the Vikings on Friday, the Foresthill, Calif., native allowed just two hits with a season-high nine strikeouts in six innings of work. At one point, she retired 10 straight batters between the third and sixth innings, and yielded singles in the second and seventh innings.
In a relief appearance in Saturday’s game, Magorian allowed no hits and no runs with a walk and a strikeout in one inning.

Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week (April 7, 2025)
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: David Mullarkey, Northern Arizona (Sr., Leeds, England)
In his first ever outdoor race for Northern Arizona University,
David Mullarkey ran third fastest 10,000-meter in Big Sky history and has been named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. The senior ran a 27:51.80 at the Stanford Invitational, which ranks him third in the NCAA for the event currently. Mullarkey was the Big Sky’s cross country individual champion this past fall.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Colby Wilson, Montana State (Gr., Olympia, Wash.)
For the second consecutive week, Montana State’s
Colby Wilson has been named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Wilson won the pole vault at the UNLV Rebel Elite Invite, clearing a bar at 17-08.25 (5.39m) just one inch behind his outdoor personal best. The mark is tied for the 14th-best in NCAA Division I this season.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Karrie Baloga, Northern Arizona (So., New Windsor, N.Y.)
After setting a new Big Sky Conference record in the women’s 5,000-meter, Northern Arizona’s
Karrie Baloga has been named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. At the Stanford Invitational, she clocked a 15:24.38 to place fourth overall. That time also ranks her fourth in the entire nation. Her previous personal best outdoors was 15:56.76. The previous Big Sky Conference record was held by NAU’s Annika Reiss, who ran a 15:30.64 last season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Egypt Simmons, Eastern Washington (RSr., King George, Va.)
With a leap of 43-4.25 (13.21m) in the triple jump, Eastern Washington’s
Egypt Simmons is the Big Sky’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. She set the mark at the 2025 Whitworth Peace Meet, which was also a school record and a facility record. Simmons sits 11
th nationally for the event.

Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week (April 9, 2025)
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week: Patrycja Niewiadomska, Northern Arizona (Jr., Bielsko-Biala, Poland)
Northern Arizona's
Patrycja Niewiadomska posted a 2-0 week, leading the Lumberjacks to clinch a share of the Big Sky regular title. Niewiadomska downed the defending tournament champions, Sacramento State, 5-2. The weekly honor is the first of the season for Niewiadomska and the second of the year for the 'Jacks overall, joining Daryna Shoshyna who won the award on March 19.

Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week (April 9, 2025)
Co-Men’s Tennis Player of the Week: Valentino De Pellegrin, Idaho State (Jr., Neuquen, Argentina)
Idaho State's
Valentino De Pellegrin had an undefeated week, going 3-0 overall with wins over Montana and Montana State. De Pellegrin downed Montana's Baltazar Wiger-Nordas and Montana State's Andre Stewart in singles action, helping the Bengals earn 4-3 wins in both matches. The two victories over Montana and Montana State mark the first season sweep for Idaho State against the Treasure State programs since 2021. This marks the Bengals' second Big Sky Player of the Week award of the season, with Victor Sklenka earning the award earlier this year on Jan. 29th.
Co-Men’s Tennis Player of the Week: Dani Torres, Northern Arizona (Sr., Valencia, Spain)
Northern Arizona's
Dani Torres went 6-0 over the weekend, helping the 'Jacks clinch the Big Sky regular season title. Torres played in three matches, earning wins over conference foes Idaho and Eastern Washington, as well as a victory over Lewis-Clark State. The weekly honor is the second for Torres' of the season and the fourth combined for the Lumberjacks.

Golfer of the Week: Lauren Greeny, Montana State (Jr., Pullman, Wash.)
Winning the 2025 Bobcat Desert Classic in a playoff has earned Montana State’s
Lauren Greeny Women’s Golfer of the Week honors from the Big Sky Conference. In a playoff against Idaho’s Zoe Newell, Greeny prevailed to win her third tournament of the season. With the victory, she became just the second Bobcat ever to win three tournament in a single season. She shot 5-under in the opening round but fell down the leaderboard a little with a 1-over in the second. Close play with a 4-under on the card forced the playoff and eventually led to the victory. This marks her third weekly honor from the Big Sky this season.
