52 Big Sky Track & Field Athletes, 19 Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. (July 26, 2018) - 52 Big Sky track & field athletes, along with nine men and 10 women’s teams from the Big Sky were honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academic efforts this past season.
In the men’s individual honors, Montana State and Southern Utah tied for the most Big Sky student-athletes awarded by the USTFCCCA with four apiece.
On the women’s side, Northern Arizona earned the most individual all-academic honors as it had six athletes recognized. Overall, Montana State and Northern Arizona had the most student-athletes honored by the USTFCCCA with eight a piece.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Among Big Sky track & field squads, Idaho State’s men recorded the best cumulative GPA (3.37) while Idaho’s women posted a top cumulative GPA of 3.69.
