Sacramento State's Johnson Named Ready Nutrition #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah (February 27, 2018) - Sacramento State’s Maranne Johnson was tabbed the Ready Nutrition #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week after tying the Big Sky record for points scored (41) in a single game.
 
Johnson, a senior from Antioch, Calif., averaged 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game in two conference contests last week. 
 
Her week was highlighted by a historic Thursday night performance against Northern Arizona. Johnson scored 41 points on 15-of-32 shooting. Besides tying the Big Sky’s record for points in a single game, Johnson set a Sacramento State record for points in a conference game.
 
With the 41-point effort, she also became the third highest scorer in Sacramento State women’s basketball history with 1,543 points.
 
Johnson currently ranks 11th in the league in scoring with an average of 16.1 points per game this year. Additionally, she leads the league in career 3-pointers made (288) and ranks third all-time in steals (319).
