Weber State's Braxton Garners #BigSkyMBB Ready Nutrition Player of the Week Honors
OGDEN, Utah (February 12, 2018) – Weber State junior forward Zach Braxton has been named the Big Sky Conference Ready Nutrition Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in a pair of home wins last week.
Braxton shot 61 percent (19-of-31) from the floor in pacing the second place Wildcats to victories over North Dakota and Northern Colorado last week in Ogden.
The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native helped Weber State avenge a Jan. 13 loss to North Dakota on Thursday with an 84-76 win over the Fighting Hawks with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and seven boards.
Braxton set a career-high 25 points and matched a career-best 13 rebounds in a 71-66 overtime win Saturday over Northern Colorado. He finished the evening shooting 11-of-18 to help the Wildcats erase a 14-point first half deficit.
On the week, Braxton also averaged 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game. He continues to lead the Big Sky Conference in shooting percentage with a 58.3 percent clip.
