This Week in the Big Sky…
OGDEN, Utah (November 4, 2014) – With final women’s soccer matches of the 2014 regular-season complete, the Big Sky Championship starts Thursday at South Campus Stadium in Missoula, Mont.  The Championship is hosted by the regular season champion Montana.
 
The first quarterfinal match of the 2014 Big Sky Championship is between No. 3 Northern Arizona and No. 6 Eastern Washington.  These two teams met just three weeks ago with Eastern Washington victorious.  The Eagles beat the Lumberjacks 1-0.  Chloe Williams scored the lone goal of the match. The quarterfinal match will be played on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. Mountain.
 
The second quarterfinal will feature No. 4 Northern Colorado and No. 5 Idaho State.  These two teams met in the second week of the conference season with Northern Colorado victorious.  The Bears beat the Bengals 2-1.  UNC’s goal scorers in the match were Kassy Castillo and Essence Ortiz-Laneir.  Whitney Peterson scored the only goal of the match for the Bengals.  The quarterfinal match will be played on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. Mountain.
The No. 2 seed Portland State will face the winner of the first quarterfinal match on Friday, November 7 at 11 a.m. Mountain.
 
The No. 1 seed and host Montana will await the winner of the second quarterfinal match on Friday, November 7 at 2 p.m. Mountain.
 
The championship match is set for Sunday, November 9 at 12 p.m.  This match will feature the winner of both semifinal matches.  The winner of the Big Sky Conference receives an automatic bid to play in the NCAA College Cup.  Pairings for the NCAA College Cup will be announced on Monday, Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on NCAA.com.
