Hornets Advance To Semifinals

In the third and final quarterfinal of the night, Sacramento State (19-11 overall) defeated Idaho State (18-12 overall) 73-60 in the Big Sky Conference Women’s Basketball Championship.

The Hornets will face the No. 1 seed and host Montana at 1:30 p.m. Mountain on Friday. 

SAC was led by Kylie Kuhns, who had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Alle Moreno added 12 points, Natasha Torgerson recorded 11 and Mallorie Franco had 10 points. 

ISU was led by Lindsey Reed, who had 17 points, and Jessa Jeppesen added 14 points. Jeppesen led on the boards with 14. 

ISU shot 36.9 percent from the floor to SAC’s 43.1 percent. The Hornets recorded 11 steals on 21 turnovers by the Bengals. At the half, ISU led at 34-33.

The biggest lead for the Hornets was 14 points with 1:33 left in the game. The last tie came at 16:31 at 38 before SAC took the lead and never looked back.
