OGDEN, Utah (April 16, 2012) – The men’s and women’s Big Sky tennis championship schedule has been set. The championship is being held April 21-22 in Sacramento, Calif., at the Gold River Racquet Club.
The women will open the championship with the first matches on April 21. No. 4 Northern Colorado (9-8) and No. 1 Sacramento State (15-9) will face off at 10 a.m. in a semifinal match. No. 3 Montana (13-7) and No. 2 Northern Arizona (10-12) will also compete in a semifinal match at the same time. Sacramento State will be seeking its 11th straight Big Sky championship title.
The men will have the later matches on April 21, with their matches beginning at 2 p.m. No. 4 Weber State (9-12) and No. 1 Montana (15-4) will be facing off in a semifinal match. No. 3 Eastern Washington (12-8) and No. 2 Sacramento State (9-12) will also be competing in the semifinals. Montana is seeking its first ever Big Sky championship after finishing the regular season 8-0 for the first time in school history. Sacramento State is looking for its fourth straight Big Sky championship title.
The winners of these matches will compete in the championship match on April 22. The women’s championship match will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men’s championship match at 2:00 p.m. For a complete schedule and seedings please click here.
