SAC’s Parrish Honored As Big Sky Conference Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah (December 3, 2012) - Sacramento State’s Se’nyce Parrish has been named the Big Sky Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the games played the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 2.
Parrish, a junior from Clovis, Calif., was just two points shy of tying the Big Sky Conference single-game record with 39 points in Sacramento State’s 80-71 overtime victory at Oregon State on Saturday. Parrish hit a crucial 3-pointer with 18 seconds left in regulation, and proceeded to connect on her next two 3-point attempts in overtime as the Hornets outscored the Beavers 12-3 in extra time.
Overall, Parrish tied the school record with nine 3-pointers made against the Beavers, and tied the Big Sky single-game record. In the win on Wednesday against San Francisco, Parrish recorded three steals, three assists, five rebounds and had 11 points.
In two games during the week, Parrish averaged 25 points per game, while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor (17-of-31), including 50 percent (10-of-20) from 3-point range and went 6-of-7 at the free-throw line. She now ranks eighth in the Big Sky at 13.2 points per game, while her 36.1 3-point field-goal percentage ranks fourth.
