Ogden, Utah (Oct. 30, 2012) - The Big Sky Conference has announced its 2012 women’s soccer All-Conference team and individual award winners.  The selections were made in a vote by the league’s 10 head coaches Monday morning. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Idaho State sophomore Amanda Ellsworth and Montana senior Erin Craig were named co-Offensive MVP, while Montana senior Lauren Costa was named Defensive MVP.  Northern Colorado junior Natalie D’Adamio was named Goalkeeper of the Year.  Weber State freshman Chansi Crompton was named Newcomer of the Year.

Ellsworth finished the season with six goals in conference play.  Her 12 points were tops in the conference, making her the Big Sky’s 2012 Golden Boot Award winner.  The sophomore from Roseville, Calif., led an Idaho State offense that was second in the league with 15 goals.  When Idaho State traveled to Sacramento State this season, ISU beat SAC 2-1 and Ellsworth was responsible for both goals.  After the performance, Ellsworth earned Offensive Player of the week.

Craig, a senior from Great Falls, Mont., finished the conference season with two goals and four assists giving her eight points.  Craig was first in the league with 32 shots and tied for first with four assists.  Craig led a Montana offense that was tied for second in the league in shots (142), tied for third in goals (13) and tied for second in assists (11).  Craig has earned four Big Sky player of the Week awards in her career.

Montana’s Lauren Costa, a senior from Missoula, Mont., was one of the leaders of a defense that only allowed five goals in conference play.  The Griz have had a total of six shutouts in conference.  Her play helped Montana win the co-Big Sky regular-season title, for the first time since 2000.

Northern Colorado’s Natalie D’Adamio, a junior from Littleton, Colo., was one of the leaders of a defense that only allowed five goals in conference play.  D’Adamio led the league with a .52 goals against average and was second in the league with five shutouts.  This marks the second straight year that NC has earned the Goalkeeper of the year award after Kirstin Salminen was the 2011 winner.

Weber State’s Chansi Crompton, a freshman from Plain City, Utah, started every single match for the Wildcats and finished the season first in assists with six.  She finished the conference season with three goals and three assists giving her nine points.  Crompton was named Offensive Player of the week after recording three goals and an assist in two matches that clinched a berth in the 2012 Big Sky Championship.

The 2012 Golden Boot Award is awarded to the player(s) who lead the conference in points collected during league play.  Idaho State forward Amanda Ellsworth tallied six goals for 12 points in nine conference matches.  This marks the second time Idaho State has had a player win the Golden Boot.  Heather Hunt was the last Bengal to win the award in 2002.

Montana’s Costa and Craig were selected for the First Team All-Conference for the second straight year.

Idaho State had two players receive First-Team honors in Ellsworth and senior forward Rachel Strawn.  Northern Colorado placed two players on the First-Team in D’Adamio and freshman defender Adrienne Jordan.  Portland State had two players earn First-Team honors in midfielders Amanda Dutra and Amanda Howie.  Weber State had two freshmen placed on the First Team in Crompton and defender Brecken Holbrook.

Northern Arizona and Sacramento State each placed one player on the First Team
