OGDEN, Utah (Jan. 2, 2012) – Sacramento State’s Kylie Kuhns has been named Big Sky Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the games played the week of Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. This is Kuhns’ second POTW award.
Kuhns posted her 13th and 14th double-double of the season in Sacramento State’s wins against Northern Arizona (91-85 in double overtime) and Weber State (78-60) over the weekend.
The junior from Salem, Ore., posted 20 points and 15 rebounds against the Lumberjacks and 17 points plus 15 more boards versus the Wildcats. Kuhns leads the NCAA in double-doubles and is in the top-3 in rebounds per game. After not getting a double-double in the second game of the season at Oklahoma, Kuhns has recorded 13 straight.
For the weekend, Kuhns shot 53.1 percent from the field and 60 percent from the free throw line. She had 30 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, six steals and 31 points.
