Five football games and nine volleyball matches can be viewed for free this weekend on Big Sky TV. Three football games will also be televised. 

Volleyball action begins Thursday night as Sacramento State travels to Northern Colorado, and Weber State hosts Idaho State. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. Mountain time. Sacramento State leads the Big Sky with a 6-2 record. Northern Colorado is tied for second at 7-3.

On Friday, Montana will travel to Eastern Washington, and Portland State will host Montana State. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. Pacific time and at 7 p.m. Mountain time, Idaho State will host Cal State Bakersfield in a non-conference match. Portland State enters the weekend with a 7-3 conference record. Eastern Washington is on fourth place at 6-4. Northern Arizona, Idaho State, and Montana are all 5-5.

Football action starts at Noon Mountain on Saturday as No. 4 Montana State takes on Idaho State in Bozeman. Idaho State coach Mike Kramer makes his return to Bozeman. Kramer coached the Bobcats from 2000-06. Montana State is seeking its eighth straight win, and looks to move closer to clinching the Big Sky regular-season championship and the automatic bid to the playoffs. It will be televised throughout Montana on Max Media networks.

No. 11 Montana looks to avenge last season’s loss to Weber State when it welcomes the Wildcats to Missoula for a 1:05 p.m. kickoff. Montana is 5-1 in conference and 6-2 overall. Weber State could still win the conference championship if it can win its final four games. The Wildcats haven’t won in Missoula since 1987, however. That game will be televised throughout Montana on Montana’s News Stations.

Portland State and Eastern Washington meet in the “Dam Cup” at 1 p.m. Pacific. Eastern Washington has won four straight since opening the season with four loses. Portland State is 2-2 in league and 4-3 overall. The game will be televised on SWX in Spokane and Comcast Sports Net Northwest throughout Oregon.

Northern Colorado seeks its first win of the season as it welcomes former Division II rival North Dakota to Greeley. North Dakota is 4-3 and ranked 25th in the coaches’ poll. North Dakota joins the Big Sky Conference on July 1, 2012.

At 6 p.m. Pacific, Sacramento State takes on Northern Arizona at Hornet Stadium. Sacramento State beat the Lumberjacks 40-10 last season in Flagstaff. Northern Arizona is looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

On Saturday in volleyball , Eastern Washington and Montana State will compete against each other in Cheney, Wash., Northern Arizona will host Sacramento State, and Montana and Portland State will face each other in Portland, Ore. All matches begin at 7 p.m. Pacific time. Also on Saturday, Northern Colorado will host Seattle in a non-conference match at 7 p.m. Mountain time.
