Football Roundup - Week 2
The first conference game of the year didn't want to end on Saturday night, as Weber State beat Northern Colorado 50-47 in four overtimes in Ogden.
The marathon game, which included a 20-minute delay when the lights went out in the third overtime, highlighted a wild Week 2 for Big Sky teams.
No. 1 Montana suffered a 35-33 upset to Cal Poly, a team that found out Tuesday it will be joining the Big Sky. Montana's quarterbacks combined to throw for 416 yards.
Montana State nearly knocked off Pac-10 Washington State, falling 23-22. The Bobcats let a 22-7 fourth-quarter lead slip away.
Portland State's Nigel Burton earned his first career coaching victory as his Vikings snapped a six-game losing streak with a 41-33 win at UC Davis, another future Big Sky football member. PSU sophomore Zach Brown connected on four field goals.
Eastern Washington earned a 35-32 win over Division II Central Washington at Qwest Field in Seattle. Junior Walter Payton Award candidate Taiwan Jones had another big game, scoring three touchdowns and amassing 235 all-purpose yards.

Idaho State put up a strong fight against Utah State, falling 38-17 in Logan. Senior QB Russel Hill returned to the Bengals' lineup.
Northern Arizona lost 41-20 at Arizona State.
In a strange twist, all four teams who lost in Week 1 earned wins on Saturday. All five teams who won opening weekend lost on Saturday, leaving all nine teams with 1-1 records.
