Big Sky Soccer Roundup - Aug. 29th
The second week of Big Sky soccer action wrapped up on Sunday with the conference getting wins from Portland State and a tie from Idaho State.
The Vikings collected a win in Sunday’s match against Albany. PSU got on the board quickly, as freshman Hannah Kimsey tallied a goal in the seventh minute. In the 85th minute of play, junior Melissa Trammell would score the Portland State insurance goal with a chip shot that sailed over the goalkeepers head and into the back of the net. Senior Frankie Ross, the 2008 Big Sky Golden Boot Winner, found the back of the net on a long shot to put the Vikings up 3-0 with less than two minutes to play.
On Sunday Idaho State hosted an unbeaten Utah State squad. The Bengals were unable to put a blemish on the Aggies’ record but did end up holding them scoreless, prompting a 0-0 tie that improved ISU’s record to 2-1-1, and extended its unbeaten streak to three matches.
Eastern Washington lost 4-0 to Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. EWU held the Titans to just one goal in the first half, but Cal State Fullerton eventually found the holes in the defense and tallied three goals in the second half.

Montana hosted the first of its three tournaments this weekend. On Sunday the Grizzlies were unable to overcome Gonzaga after rallying from a pair of deficits, losing 3-2.
