PSU's Yada Named Black Clover Golfer of the Week

Portland State’s Britney Yada has been named the Black Clover Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after tying for 30th at the UNLV Spring Invitational.

 Yada, a freshman from Hilo, Hawai’i, opened the tournament with a three-under-par 69, the lowest score by a Viking in three years. The 69 tied for the second best all-time in school history. Yada followed with rounds of 75 and 82 for a 226.
 
 Yada helped Portland State to a first-round score of 294, which tied the third best in school history, and the best round by the program in four years. Portland State finished 13th in the 18-team tournament with a 54-hole score of 917. UNLV won the tournament, played March 8-10 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas, with a score of 866.
 
 Yada is Portland State’s scoring leader this year with an average of 77.72 strokes per round.
